CODE OF CONDUCT
CODE OF CONDUCT – BOXERS
As a Boxer representing 7th St Community Boxing Club I promise to adhere to the following:
• Always treat coaches, officials, teammates and opposing teams with respect.
• Inform coach or team manager if you are going to be late or absent.
• No cussing/cursing or using inappropriate language.
• Members are not allowed to consume or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
• Members must wear suitable clothing for training and competition sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.
Required daily gear: Mouth Guard (not Red or Orange), running shoes, hand wraps, 16oz boxing gloves (No metal).
• Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
Dues: $50 due on the 10th of the month. Financial issues should be discussed with coach. Applications available for financial assistance.
• All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/COACHES
• In the gym and at tournaments allow coach to do the coaching. (Parents with boxing experience can volunteer to be a coach and assist after passing USA Boxing screening process).
• Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.
• Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.
• Help your child to recognize good performance, not just results.
• Never force your child to take part in sport.
• Set a good example by recognizing fair play and applauding good performances of all.
• Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
• Publicly accept officials' judgments.
• Support your child's involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
• Use correct and proper language at all times.
• Encourage and guide performers to accept responsibility for their own performance and behavior.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CLUB OFFICIALS AND VOLUNTEERS
The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarized below.
All volunteers must:
• Consider the wellbeing and safety of participants before the development of performance.
• Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants, based on mutual trust and respect.
• Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.
• Promote the positive aspects of the sport (eg fair play).
• Display consistently high standards of behavior and appearance.
• Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club, USA BOXING & SafeSport.
• Hold appropriate valid qualifications and insurance cover.
• Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward.
• Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibited substances.
• Encourage participants to value their performances and not just results.
• Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behavior.
